The partners of a Chicago Ameriprise Financial practice approached NWD with an interest in creating a new financial office. They wanted a similar “open and contemporary” quality that they had experienced in the NWD studio. The client’s ambition was to architecturally bolster their corporate brand while exemplifying the character of the firm’s principals.

The resulting design placed financial offices along the perimeter window walls and brought the reception area and other common spaces toward the center of the scheme. Office walls adjacent to interior spaces were opened up with panels of grooved glass set in clear aluminum frames, pulling natural light to the center spaces while still providing the necessary visual privacy to the offices. The material palette was selected to provide visual contrast while reinforcing the subtleties of the design.
